my birthday and ellen recently

Well, well.. today is my birthday. The big two two; twenty two; double two; deuce deuce. Doesn't deuce mean poop? Isn't there that saying " i just took a big deuce"? Or am i just making that up.

Anyways, first I will chat for a wee sec about the show. Recently the people who I saw was Lauren Conrad. She seemed cute in person, I heard she's not the nicest but I've never met her so who am I to judge. I also got to see Janet Jackson perform, 10 feet away from me. That was pretty awesome. They wanted us to be stand ins in rehearsal so we had to pretend like we were the audience and so we stood right in front of her. oh so awkward. She also lipsynced horribly and didn't really care during her rehearsal. You think she would at least want to give us a show. She is such an odd person, and during her interview you couldn't even hear what she was saying to Ellen. Oh so weird.

I also had a run in with ellen, well sort of, in the hallway. I was walking back to research when all of a sudden I saw her bodyguard turn the corner into the hallway where I was headed and walk towards me. Then right after him was ellen and her assistant craig. So i thought I didn't want to look obvious so i just kept walking slowly and was looking down at my pen, then looked up and smiled at her. She actually smiled at me for a good amount of time, then they turned the same corner that I was going to turn. So I slowed down then kind of stood there like, should i turn the same corner to go into the research room like I planned. Or do I stand there and wait, or keep walking. So out loud I told myself, "yea maybe I should keep walking". Then Dell walked by me and said, "good idea". So i went around and walked through the other door that meets at the top of the stairs, and I almost ran into them again. Crraazy. not really.

So last night, before I forget I actually had a dream about Ellen. I was at the show and we were outside and I was running around and she asked me to do something for her, and so i did. We ended up chatting for a second then she went back into the show. Then I thought to myself, she's not that awkward I actually get to talk to her a lot. (Definitely a dream=meaning i don't talk to her). But anyways, at one point jack johnson was on the show and so i was sitting at the bench looking at something, and his brothers (bc for some reason he had two) started talking to me. Then I think the littlest one was kind of hitting on me, while Jack, which didn't look like him was standing there. Then the brother's family said he had to go so for some reason I got in my fork lift that I drove, and drove backwards to take him to his tour bus. He then asked if i liked granny smith apples, and that he'd left us some. So then left, and I found this giant bag of apples in it. They were as big as bowling balls. Some were eatin, and some were squishy. But some were perfect, and tasted wonderful.

Then I started driving the fork lift again and it wouldn't slow down and i tried to pull the E break, but then it fell over and i broke it. Then my dad (which was some random guy i can't figure out) kind of yelled at me for breaking it and told me to start cleaning up this farm thing that i lived on. There was a batting cage too.

It was just an all over odd dream..

But to clear stuff up from before, we are aloud to look her in the eye now. I think they just don't want us staring at her, or bugging her. So we're aloud to smile and walk past, just not get in her way. So i don't think she's being mean, she just doesn't want to get bugged by a random person.

During rehearsal for a game, I did get to tell her my name. But she probably wasn't really listening.

Also for the Bday. I just can't expect much. That's what sucks about being older, and being that person that has to make the effort. My roomies made me bomb cookies and a video which was awesome. So since last night's clubbing wasn't a load of fun, i just have to remember I have them back home that love me. for some reason. and i have this big paper to write which I'm putting off right now. That's just what i do. I make stupid choices, that end up blowing up in my face. Hopefully I'll learn how to stop procrastinating some day.

Trying to think back

So i realized that I havn't written on this in a few weeks. Today is February 21st almost the 22nd. I'm in Human Interest right now, well sort of. I'm actually done with it tomorrow then I rotate to Research on Monday.

In HI at first I was fricken intimidated because Becky and Jen were always doing so much everyday and telling me how they always got yelled at, so I thought it was going to be the same for me. But basically what I do everyday is Tivo Logs where I watch The Today Show, Jay Leno, Conan, Good Morning America or GMA as we like to call it, and some others.. Basically we sit there for 3 hours or however long it takes us, and fastforward through all of these shows looking for HI related stuff. Meaning any interesting stories, like the guy who reunited with his mom, and they both worked at lowes... anyways, i just talked to wolf aka jayden, and now its 12:18am and i'm tired. so i'm going to finish this later.

Third week ish

So its been pretty busy and I don't even know where I left off. Yep guess what, I DANCED with ELLEN! Yep. Well sort of.. I was doing rehearsal and was sitting in the audience because they wanted me and some others to be a stand in for something, so i sat down in the aisle on the left side if your facing the stage. Well Ellen came in to do her monologe and then she started to do her dancing up the stairs. Thats when I realized, holy crap in the place where she usually dances with people. So the music is going and i'm dancing in my seat, the only one dancing in my suit. So shes dancing towards me so i look up and she sees me and smiles, then she is right next to me and dancing with me. I should have stood up, but probably would have looked too desperate. So she danced with me for like a good 10 seconds just smiling at me. Then she went back down and did the rest of her show. I was just in complete awe when that happened.

Well later in the day I did stage door, and I saw the security guard and so i shut the door and was sort of still dancing. Then she was walking towards me, so i was looking away then looked up right when she was dancing, and she leaned in and said

"Do it! Get Down!" Directly to me, because i was dancing. It was crazy! It still blows my mind.

Other celebs I have seen are Page Davis from Trading spaces who was walking towards me and tugging up her pants, and i was smiling at her bc it was pretty funny and she just looked at me and started laughing too. It was awesome. She was definetly the nicest celeb i have come across.

Mario Lopez also talked to me, and asked me directly who Ellen was talking to.
Nikki Taylor the model stopped in front of me and looked at me for a while to open the door, but then i told her she's supposed to keep going, and she was like "oh, ok" then went.

I mean you have to realize, most of these stars think they are the shit and usually look ahead or down.

Ryan Sheckler walked past me, a sloth walked past me, a baby tiger, I saw an elephant, a camel,
I got to be in the control Room and see all the action which was nuts. IT was our superbowl show.

Ellen also "interviewed me" for a game, that we played. I ran through paper for the superbowl game, i got in a huge hampster bubble ball that I ran in and knocked over pins,

Natasha Bedingfield walked past me and sang during the show, Alice Smith walked past me, DramaRama walked past me.

I think I already talked about TR KNIGHT coming in the office and walking by me and getting a high five from ellen.

So now i'm in Human Interest, which is nuts, because the people in there are sort of nuts. They want everything to be soo precise, and I already messed up by putting a guest on the wrong show. But i didn't know we were taping two shows. Yep. Horrible.
but its nice to be busy.

I also went to this club called The Room with sarah allen, the cue card girl. and we had a blast with these random guys and had a sleepover because we were fricken tired. I also saw a little of the beach, and a makeup lady at sephora thought i was a teenager. Those are some of the adventures so far.

I just miss everyone, and my roommates and being able to be loud with them. I also miss the boyfriend. hes pretty nifty. and i miss the fam.

1st week mon-wed

Well the last few days this week have been hecka boring and somewhat exciting. Monday Pretty much the whole fricken entire day i did voice mails and i dont even remember. Tuesday I pretty much worked on an excel worksheet and did stage door. Jeff Corwin came so i saw a wolf in the beginning, but pretty much when i do stage door, i stare at the wall and open and close the door for crew people, and make sure its closed with ellen and celebrities walk by. So i get a glimpse of ellen everytime. Jeff also brough an African elephant which i got to see. When i was standing at the stage door, I saw this girl trying to get through the door and so i pushed it open for her, but then after like a second i noticed she was fricken carying a wood block with a pole and a sloth hanging upside down on it. It was like a foot from me. Soooo scary, because it was staring right at me and those are very dangerous creatures.

The exciting part that day was when I closed the door Ellen told me thank you and Portia was with her. and she said thanks baby and portia walked through my door. that was kind of crazy.

Today, Wednesday I think was a lot more exciting. I pretty set up chairs, then later got asked to do stage door. So i went down there and the first two guests were just human interest people so i didn't know who they were. But then Paige Davis from trading spaces was coming on, so jen started walking her through the hallway and i saw her tugging on her jeans and pulling them up with this huge grin on her face, so i totally smiled back and kind of laughed and she sort of laughed with me. It was awesome.

I also got to see Monique, and natasha Bedingfield. She also performed but again i'm not supposed to look so i basically heard her perform, and her songs were pretty good.

All i know is, tomorrow is going to be crazy because its Ellen's bday show. Hopefully i'll get to help pass out cake and be on camera. Since interns today handed out cupcakes they got to be on the show. We'll see.

Day 2, Friday

My second day was definetly not as exciting. I got into work with Ben (who is my new carpool driver for Wed, Thur, Fri and at first just sat in the intern office with him. Then thank God, Iain pronounced Ian grabbed me and asked me to help him with packaging phones for 12 days of give aways. It was actually more fun then I though, because we talked a lot about the internship and how he was an intern last quarter and this was his first two weeks. We talked about abortion and how crazy some people are like the ones that campain in the streets. We made jokes, and talked about the weather. Then i told him how i had to find a ride to work on mondays and tuesdays and he offered to take me. So i'm so glad that problem is solved. He also told me he'd hang out with me this weekend, because I told him that I dont have any friends. I also found out hes dating someone from the office but he wont tell me who.

I'm pretty sure I'll mostly be working with him.

Then I took my picture for my ellen badge

Then pretty much the rest of the day I listened to people sing happy bday to ellen or have there kid say happy bday thinking they were going to be unique and get tickets to the show. But really, everyone sounds the same. I probably picked out 3 out of 500 that sounded different.

Friday is a catch up day, so we had no shows to tape. Not the most exciting day, but if I want them to notice me I have to do it.

So, so far so good. I already feel pretty comfortable there and most people are generally really nice. Susan even told me I have a face that looks like I could handle the phones. So thats always good.

Now I wonder what my first full week is going to be like...?

Day 1- Crazy awesome!

internship at the Ellen DeGeneres Show Current mood: pleased

Well today was my first day at the Ellen DeGeneres Show as an intern. It was sort of how i thought it was going to be, but not at all. I did the whole intern tour, and the hallways are soo confusing, i definetly got lost a couple times and walked in circles.

So I was stand in for terry and bindi (steve erwin's fam) and got to hold a hairless rat, a lamb, pet a chinchilla, and some other wierd thing. The camera guy also kept zooming on in me which was a little funny and told me my eyes were crazy blue, so that was nice.
and i met a Whole bunch of people and remember a third of their names, and we're not aloud to talk to ellen or make eye contact. but i did for a second and got to see her on stage a bit. I also got to see the whole rehearsal, and in the studio its freezing, its like 54 degrees in there. and i got to watch the jonas brothers perform while sitting on stage, and they walked past me twice when i worked the stage door. i'm pretty sure they want me bc we made eye contact and one of them brushed me. and i also deleted a lot of bday messages from people.

i also saw ellen's mom. So it was a pretty exciting day! only got yelled at once by ellen's bodyguard bc i needed to shut the door. but everyone is soo nice except for one person who i already can't stand. but i'm going to have to try and get over it.. hopefully i will.. but now i'm in my studio by myself, and its wierd. but nice and calm.. and yea..
i rode the bus today and got on and the bus driver had no idea where the studio was and was not helpful at all. i only rode the bus for one stop and walked like a mile to work. but it was pretty nice to see everything and walk by the writers strike.

but i found another intern to drive me 3 days a week. so monday and tuesday i need to find someone... hopefully i can fast!!
